We arrived in Agnes Water and stayed in a caravan park next to the beach. It was pretty busy because it was school holidays in Queensland and Dad had to go backward and forward lots of times to park the caravan. There were heaps of other kids to play with and we made some friends.
Next to Agnes Water is a town called 1770. It is called 1770 because that was the year when Captain Cook landed there. He stopped in the bay to make some repairs to his ship called the Endeavour.
Pa and Grandma arrived the next day and they brought our fishing rods. We went fishing on the beach and the jetty but we didn't catch much. Henry and Liv caught a few sandcrabs and Pa caught a little whiting which we used as bait. Henry also caught a whiting and we threw it back because it was too small.
The beach at Agnes Water was really good for boogie boarding and Liv got a new boogie board. We all took turns on it. Will had a really big wipeout with Grandma but he was ok. Dad made a sandcastle on an island with a moat around it.
We went to a pub to watch the Grand final and saw Hawthorn win. Dad let us have a coke and we went completely crazy! After that Dad said he wouldn't give us coke again.
Dad cooked a really good chicken curry one night. We couldn't stop eating it. Dad had a bet with Henry that if Henry beat him at chess then Dad would give him $100. Henry beat Dad the night Dad was cooking the curry. Dad claimed that he was distracted (he was also playing without his Queen) but now he owes Henry $100!
